The Haliburton, Kawartha and Pine Ridge District Health Unit offers reproductive and sexual health information, community health nursing, public health inspection services, diet and nutrition counselling, health education programs, family planning information, communicable disease investigation, speech therapy service, and a community dental service program. Brighton branch office: 35 Alice Street, open Monday &endash; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 613-475-0933. Closed from noon to 1 p.m. daily. The Haliburton, Northumberland & Victoria Long-Term Care Access Centre provides access to health and support services in the community and will arrange placement in Long-Term Care facilities when appropriate. Referrals can be made by calling 1-877-468-5544 or 613-475-2207. Children's Aid Society of Northumberland, 1005 Burnham Street, Cobourg, K9A 5J6, provides child protection services under the Children and Family Services Act; investigates all complaints of child abuse; is a member of Family Violence Treatment Coalition.
